People on the Move

  • PubWest congratulates Kalen Landow on her new position with Rowman & Littlefield. Kalen will be handling marketing and publicity for trade imprints in the company's Boulder, CO, office. Her new e-mail address will be klandow@rowman.com.

  • Sam Scinta of Fulcrum Publishing announced that after 18 years in Colorado, he and his family are moving to western Wisconsin, where he will be operating a Midwest office for the company .  Scinta stated, “It is with much sadness that I leave my Rocky Mountain home, but as they say, when opportunity knocks, you have to open the door.”  Scinta will remain Publisher and President of Fulcrum Publishing, which will continue to be headquartered in Golden, Colorado. Derek Lawrence, Fulcrum’s Associate Publisher, will be in charge of daily operations.  Scinta’s new contact information is not yet available, but his email address will remain sam@fulcrumbooks.com.

Portland:

  • On October 13th, Bob Schatz will be giving a workshop on "Writing When Results Matter" at Mercy Corps Northwest, 2069 NE Hoyt St. in Portland. There will be an entry fee of $10, all of which goes to support Mercy Corps NW programs. The ninety-minute presentation is intended to offer practical writing tips to anyone producing written pieces that have to be effective: marketing and promotions, reports, proposals, etc. Click here for complete details.
